Adega Cottage is situated in the small hamlet of Espargal, 10 minutes south of Benafim village in the Central Algarve and a 30 minute drive from Faro International Airport. Adega Cottage is perched high on a hilltop 357 metres above sea level and overlooks fertile valleys dotted with farming communities and the views are spectacular. Also visible from Adega Cottage is the village of Alte with its narrowed cobbled streets and riverside facilities, a favourite stop for visitors. Adega Cottage offers guests superb walking, bird-watching and a retreat from the stresses of modern life.

This cottage has been lovingly restored and located in a working farm and is one of three accommodations available on the farm. This accommodation is ideal for those looking for total peace and tranquility and wishing to spend their holiday within the magnificent Algarvian countryside. The cottage is ideal for two people, but will accommodate a family of four if necessary with a sofa-bed in the lounge area that folds out to sleep one or two small children.

The cottage comprises of an L-shaped lounge/kitchen/diner. The kitchen comes equipped with gas hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, electric toaster, blender, washing machine, coffee machine, juicer, iron and ironing board. The dining table comfortably sleeps 4 and there is an abundance of crockery and cutlery.

The lounge area is a relaxing room with a sofa bed, radio/CD player, terrestrial TV and a wood burning stove for those cooler winter evenings. Logs are provided free of charge.

The bedroom has traditional Algarvian sloping ceiling, double bed, wardrobe and chest of drawers.

The modern bathroom consists of a shower, bidet, WC, washbasin and shaver point.

Outside, is a rock garden that surrounds the cottage and Adega Cottage offers two terraces. There is a terrace on the lower level with table, chairs, sunloungers, parasol and a brick built Bar-B-Q. Adega Cottage has a further terrace, a roof terrace with table, chairs and parasol for alfresco dining which offers you further privacy and superb views across the valleys.

A weekly maid service is provided throughout your stay to ensure that fresh bed linen is available, bath and hand towels are changed weekly.

A complimentary welcome hamper is provided.

For those travelling with small children requiring a cot and high chair, these can be provided free of charge.

Smoking is allowed within the accommodation and pets may also be allowed by prior consent from the owners. Please note, the owners do have pets of their own that live on the farm.

Facilities are close at hand, supermarkets, cafes, clinic and pharmacy are located in the little town of Benafim which is a very short drive away. The main towns of Loule, Messines and Silves are all within a 30 minute drive from Adega Cottage. These towns will provide you with everything you will need during your holiday, hypermarkets, supermarkets, cafes, restaurants, bars, banks, post office etc.

The owners of Adega Cottage who also live on site and speak very good English are available for any queries you may have during your stay or for recommendations, but they promise never to infringe on your privacy.

Whilst access to the Cottage is good, owing to its location, car hire is essential and can be arranged prior to your arrival. Hire cars are relatively inexpensive and are usually picked up and dropped off at the airport. We are able to offer competitive rates on request. There is also an excellent Taxi service available locally.
