Beaches and Dunes Oregon has 400 miles of beaches and sand dunes and every single one of them is open to the public. This area has a nice, temperate climate and is popular with vacationers. Depoe Bay, called the "smallest harbor in the world", is filled with unique dining featuring fresh seafood and shopping. In Garibaldi, you can take a fishing charter side trip. Astoria and Warrenton are set in a Victorian setting and hold historical significance as the western end of the Lewis and Clark Trail. Byways Oregon is nationally known for its scenic byways and traveling one of them is a great way to see the state. The Volcanic Scenic Byway is a great spot from which to view Crater Lake and perhaps bald eagles, wile the Hells Canyon Byway features tall Wallowas with a mile-deep gorge.
